This policy explains your right to withdraw from a purchase, return a product, report an incorrect or defective product, and request a refund.
Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply under the laws of your country.
1. Right of withdrawal
Consumers located in Norway, the European Union or the European Economic Area generally have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without providing a reason.
The withdrawal period begins on the day after you, or a person designated by you other than the carrier, receives the product.
If an order is delivered in several separate shipments, the withdrawal period begins on the day after the final product or shipment is received.
For consumers outside Norway, the EU and the EEA, SVAICO voluntarily offers an equivalent 14-day return period unless otherwise stated, subject to this policy and any mandatory rights provided by local law.
2. How to exercise your right of withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the 14-day withdrawal period expires.
Send a clear statement to:
Your notification should include:
-
Your full name.
-
Your order number.
-
The product or products you wish to return.
-
A clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
You may use the model withdrawal form at the bottom of this policy, but using the form is not mandatory.
Simply returning a product without notifying us may delay the processing of your return. Refusing delivery or failing to collect a shipment does not, by itself, constitute a clear withdrawal notice.
3. Return deadline
After notifying us that you wish to withdraw, you must return the products without unnecessary delay and no later than 14 days after sending your withdrawal notice.
The return deadline is met when the products are handed over to the carrier before the 14-day return period expires.
Please contact us before sending a return so that we can provide the correct instructions and any necessary customs information.
Unless we provide a different return address in writing, returns should be sent to:
RASKIMPORT AS / SVAICO
Vikavegen 18
5107 Salhus
Norway
Email: support@svaico.com
Please include your name and order number inside the package.
4. Condition of returned products
Products should be returned:
-
Securely packaged for transport.
-
Complete with all parts, accessories, seals, manuals and documentation.
-
In their original packaging where reasonably possible.
-
Free from unnecessary damage, contamination or modification.
You may inspect a product to establish its nature, characteristics and function in the same way that you would reasonably be permitted to inspect it in a physical shop.
You are responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the product.
Opening ordinary packaging does not automatically remove your right of withdrawal.
5. Automotive parts and installation
Automotive parts must be inspected carefully before installation.
Before installing a product, compare it with the original part and check:
-
The manufacturer and part number.
-
Original equipment and cross-reference numbers.
-
Connectors and electrical connections.
-
Dimensions and mounting points.
-
Threads, seals and fittings.
-
Technical specifications.
-
Vehicle compatibility.
Do not install the product if it differs from the original part or appears unsuitable for the vehicle.
Installation, connection or use may go beyond what is necessary to inspect an automotive part and may cause a significant reduction in value.
This may apply where a product has been:
-
Installed or fitted to a vehicle.
-
Connected to an electrical system.
-
Operated, tested under load or used on a vehicle.
-
Programmed, coded, calibrated, adapted or electronically paired.
-
Filled with or exposed to fuel, oil, coolant, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid or other substances.
-
Scratched, marked or damaged during installation or removal.
-
Modified, painted, machined, opened or disassembled.
-
Returned with damaged seals or missing components.
-
Contaminated by dirt, soot, metal particles, chemicals or fluids.
An installed or used product does not automatically lose all return rights. However, we may deduct the actual reduction in value caused by installation, use, contamination, damage or other handling beyond what was necessary to inspect it.
Where a returned product can no longer be sold as new, the reduction in value may be substantial. In exceptional cases, an installed, programmed, contaminated or damaged product may have little or no remaining resale value.
Any deduction will be based on the condition and actual loss in value of the individual product and will be made only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
6. Products excluded from the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal may not apply to:
-
Products manufactured according to the customer’s individual specifications.
-
Products clearly personalised or permanently modified specifically for the customer.
-
Products programmed or coded specifically for the customer before delivery, where the product has become clearly personalised.
-
Products that have been inseparably mixed with another product after delivery.
-
Sealed products that cannot be returned for genuine health or hygiene reasons after the seal has been broken, where the legal requirements for this exception are met.
-
Digital content where delivery has begun after the customer expressly agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal.
-
Other products or services that are legally exempt from the right of withdrawal.
A product is not automatically excluded merely because it was ordered from a supplier, was not normally held in stock or carries a high value.
Any exception will be assessed based on the individual product, the agreement and applicable law.
7. Return shipping costs
For an ordinary withdrawal, including where a product is no longer wanted or was ordered incorrectly, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the product.
The customer is also responsible for choosing suitable packaging and a suitable shipping method.
We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service and adequate transport insurance. The customer is responsible for the return shipment until it has been delivered to the return address, unless SVAICO arranged the return shipment or provided the return label.
SVAICO will cover reasonable return shipping costs where:
-
We supplied a product different from the product ordered.
-
The product was damaged before delivery.
-
The product is confirmed to be defective.
-
We have otherwise agreed in writing to cover the return.
Do not purchase express return shipping, collection services or other additional services on our behalf unless this has been approved by SVAICO in writing.
Unauthorised additional shipping costs may not be reimbursed.
8. Original delivery costs
When an entire consumer order is returned through a valid exercise of the right of withdrawal, we will refund the original delivery cost corresponding to our least expensive standard delivery method available for the order.
If you selected a more expensive delivery method, such as express or priority delivery, the additional cost will not be refunded.
When only part of an order is returned, the original delivery cost will normally not be refunded unless required by applicable law.
Additional services purchased separately, such as premium delivery arrangements, may not be refundable once performed.
9. Refund processing
Once we receive your withdrawal notice, we will refund the eligible amount without unnecessary delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the notice.
We may withhold the refund until:
-
We have received the returned products; or
-
You have provided acceptable evidence that the products have been sent,
whichever occurs first.
Returned products may be inspected before the final refundable amount is determined.
The refund may be adjusted for:
-
A documented reduction in the value of the product.
-
Missing parts, accessories or documentation.
-
Damage caused by insufficient return packaging.
-
Non-refundable additional delivery costs.
-
Other deductions permitted by applicable law.
Refunds will normally be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless another method is expressly agreed.
SVAICO does not charge consumers a fixed cancellation or restocking fee for the lawful exercise of the right of withdrawal.
After a refund has been issued, your bank, card issuer or payment provider may require additional time to process and display the transaction.
10. Incorrect products
Contact support@svaico.com promptly if you receive a product different from the product ordered.
Include:
-
Your order number.
-
The product and part number ordered.
-
The product and part number received.
-
Clear photographs of the product.
-
Photographs of the product label and packaging.
-
A description of the difference.
Do not install, use, modify or discard an incorrect product.
If the product supplied by SVAICO is confirmed to be incorrect, we will provide an appropriate remedy and cover the reasonable return shipping cost.
11. Products damaged during transport
Inspect the package and products as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If the shipment appears damaged, photograph:
-
The unopened outer package.
-
All sides of the package.
-
The shipping label.
-
The internal packaging.
-
The damaged product.
-
Any missing or loose components.
Send the photographs, your order number and a description of the damage to support@svaico.com.
Reporting visible transport damage within 48 hours helps us pursue the matter with the carrier. This requested reporting period does not remove or reduce any mandatory consumer rights.
Keep the product, packaging and shipping materials until the case has been resolved.
Do not install, repair, modify or discard a damaged product unless instructed by SVAICO.
12. Defective products and warranty claims
If you believe a product is defective, contact support@svaico.com before removing, repairing, modifying or replacing it where reasonably possible.
Include:
-
Your order number.
-
The product and part number.
-
The vehicle make, model, year and engine.
-
The vehicle identification number where relevant.
-
The installation date.
-
The date and circumstances in which the fault occurred.
-
A detailed description of the symptoms.
-
Diagnostic trouble codes and test results where available.
-
Photographs or video showing the issue.
-
The installer’s name or workshop details where relevant.
We may request additional information, diagnostic documentation or the return of the product for inspection.
A product will not necessarily be considered defective merely because:
-
It does not solve an existing vehicle fault.
-
The wrong product was ordered.
-
The vehicle has another mechanical or electrical fault.
-
Installation, programming or calibration was performed incorrectly.
-
Required supporting components were not replaced.
-
The product was damaged by contamination, incorrect fuel, oil starvation, excessive pressure, overheating, voltage faults or another external cause.
-
The product was modified, disassembled or repaired without authorisation.
Where a product is confirmed to be defective, SVAICO will provide the remedy required by applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund.
Mandatory consumer rights concerning defective products are separate from the 14-day right of withdrawal.
13. Installation and labour costs
Unless required by mandatory law or expressly agreed in writing, SVAICO is not responsible for:
-
Installation or removal costs.
-
Diagnostic costs.
-
Programming, coding or calibration costs.
-
Workshop charges.
-
Vehicle recovery or towing.
-
Storage charges.
-
Loss of use, downtime or lost income.
-
Damage caused by incorrect installation or continued operation after a fault becomes apparent.
Customers should verify the product and compatibility before installation.
Professional installation by a qualified technician may be required for certain products.
This section does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Compatibility and vehicle information
Vehicle compatibility tools, category selections, product descriptions, technical data, photographs, dimensions and cross-reference numbers are provided to assist customers in selecting products.
Vehicle manufacturers may use different parts within the same model, engine, production year or market. A vehicle selection result does not replace verification using the original part number or the vehicle identification number.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate information when requesting compatibility assistance.
Where possible, compatibility should be confirmed using:
-
The vehicle identification number.
-
The original equipment number.
-
The manufacturer’s number printed on the existing product.
-
Engine and transmission codes.
-
Production date.
-
Technical dimensions and specifications.
If SVAICO recommends or supplies an incorrect product after receiving complete and accurate information, contact us. We will review the matter as an incorrect-product claim.
If the customer supplied incomplete or incorrect information, the return will normally be treated as an ordinary withdrawal, and the customer will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
15. International returns and customs declarations
Customers returning products from outside Norway must follow the return and customs instructions provided by SVAICO.
The shipment should be declared as returned goods and should include:
-
The original order or invoice number.
-
An accurate description of the returned products.
-
The correct customs value.
-
A clear indication that the products are being returned to the original seller.
A return must not be declared as a new commercial sale.
Do not declare the shipment as a gift or as having no value.
The customer may be responsible for customs duties, import VAT, brokerage fees, storage charges or handling costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete return declaration, where permitted by law.
Import duties, local taxes and carrier fees paid directly to a customs authority, government body or carrier are not always collected or controlled by SVAICO. Applications for repayment of these amounts may need to be submitted directly to the relevant authority or carrier.
Where SVAICO collected import taxes or duties directly at checkout, any refund will be handled according to the applicable tax rules and the circumstances of the return.
16. Refused and unclaimed shipments
Refusing delivery or failing to collect a shipment does not automatically constitute a valid exercise of the right of withdrawal.
You must also send a clear withdrawal notice to support@svaico.com.
Where permitted by law, actual costs caused by an unclaimed or unjustifiably refused shipment may be deducted from the refund. These may include:
-
Return freight.
-
Carrier handling charges.
-
Customs charges.
-
Storage charges.
-
Other documented costs incurred in recovering the shipment.
This does not apply where delivery was refused because the shipment was clearly damaged, incorrect or otherwise not delivered in accordance with the agreement.
17. Order cancellations before shipment
Contact support@svaico.com as soon as possible if you wish to cancel an order before shipment.
We will attempt to stop the order, but cancellation cannot be guaranteed after processing, supplier ordering, picking, packing or shipment has begun.
If an order has already been dispatched, it will normally need to be handled as a return after delivery.
This does not limit any statutory right of withdrawal.
18. Exchanges
SVAICO does not guarantee direct product exchanges.
The quickest method of obtaining another product will normally be to return the original product in accordance with this policy and place a new order.
Replacement of an incorrect, damaged or defective product will be handled separately by customer support.
19. Business purchases
Statutory consumer withdrawal rights generally apply only to individuals purchasing mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
Purchases made by workshops, resellers, companies and other commercial customers are considered business purchases where permitted by law.
Returns from business customers require prior written approval from SVAICO unless the product is incorrect, defective or otherwise subject to mandatory legal rights.
Approved business returns may be subject to reasonable and disclosed inspection, handling, return or restocking costs.
This section does not remove any mandatory rights a business customer may have regarding incorrect or defective products.
20. Abuse and fraudulent claims
SVAICO may investigate suspected fraudulent, misleading or abusive return and warranty claims.
This may include cases involving:
-
Products not originally supplied by SVAICO.
-
Different products or components placed in the returned packaging.
-
Altered, removed or unreadable serial numbers.
-
False descriptions of product condition or installation.
-
Deliberate damage.
-
Missing components.
-
Chargeback abuse.
-
Repeated misuse of return procedures.
We may request identification, photographs, serial numbers, diagnostic information or other reasonable evidence necessary to assess a claim.
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s legitimate statutory rights.
21. Mandatory consumer rights
This policy does not exclude, restrict or replace mandatory rights concerning:
-
The right of withdrawal.
-
Incorrectly supplied products.
-
Products damaged before delivery.
-
Defective or non-conforming products.
-
Legal guarantees.
-
Refunds or other statutory remedies.
If applicable local consumer law provides stronger rights than this policy, those mandatory rights will apply.
